My parents flew out today after 10 days of hockey games and Christmas markets... Though it was 6 days more than my dad's 4 day rule (for staying at one place)... it's cool... seeing as their both a) family and 2) staying a block away in a pension (bed and breakfast), 10 days is almost too short for all the good times we had...
... Shopping... Talking... Reading... Perusing... Hiking... Walking... Cappucinoing... Gluvining (Tea, cinnamon, and red Sangriaish wine)... Sampling... Chocolating... and pre-opening gifts given earlying... which led to painting... drawing... eating... crocheting... and hugging
... The last day my parents even went on our 2 hour hike up the mountain... talk about young at heart... so positive... so upbeat... through the whole thing what an encouragement... even went sledding for the way down...
(My Dad said that as he's thought about it, every truly succesful person he's ever known has a knack for turning any situation into a positive... IE. 'Man it's so early'... "I KNOW, I JUST LOVE MORNINGS"... 'And it's cold!'... "THE COLDER THE BETTER!!")
... I want to be successful too... So... I'm trying to be more positive... even insanely so... because... why not...? I even went online and found some amazing quotes to get me started:
Real life is not always going to be perfect or go our way, but the recurring acknowledgment of what is working in our lives can help us not only survive but surmount our difficulties
“We don’t see the things the way they are. We see things the way WE are.”- Talmund
The secret to success is to start from scratch and keep on scratching.”- Dennis Green
Hard work spotlights the character of people. Some turn up their sleeves. Some turn up their noses, and some don’t turn up at all.”- Sam Ewing
“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life’s about creating yourself.”- George Bernard Shaw
“Success is what you attract by the person you become.”- Jim Rohn
“You have to ‘Be’ before you can ‘Do’ and ‘Do’ before you can ‘Have’.- Zig Ziglar
“You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people to get what they want.”- Zig Ziglar
So now... instead of yelling at the ref because he only gave us 2 minutes of power play time all night (that's 1 penalty the whole game)... So they could hook and hold and interfere their way to a 2-1 win... I'm going to smile instead... smile... and think... that's good... it's good we have the biggest idiot for a ref I've ever seen... good because... because... cause... cause... uhhh...
... because “You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.”...?... right... thankyou Christopher Columbus... for that...
