Ignorance from Arrogance

"Somtimes the greater damage does not come from the things that we don't know... but from the things that we know for sure that just ain't so..."
... In this particular case I'm bombarded by a 6 day creationist about how the earth was created in 6 days... a straight literal translation of the bible... and yet a seemingly well-educated guy...
... A physicist... a linguist... a mollecular biologist... a guy that's studied some sort of everything... a real live renaissance man... throwing out a lot of really interesting stuff on quantum physics (particles actually behave differently when they're being observed than when they're not), the nature of light (it's not a constant, it used to be possibly 10^12 times faster than it is now and is still slowing down while gravitational waves have remained at that original speed), and hebrew linguistics and translation errors (where day and night in Genesis 1 do not actually mean day and night but in ancient times translated to moving from disorder to order)...
... but quesiton... is there bias?... is he looking for a proof of something he already believes.. or is he looking at the evidence as is and then forming a conclusion... cause the way he talks tells me there's bias in the way of truth... and that's bad... but I guess at the same time... can you really say more about athiestic evolutionists?...
... But back to dude... and most impressively... what gets me the most in all of this is that some of the things he says seem to ring true... and if they are true he might have a real case...
... even if... he falls short on two things...
... First, he criticizes older scientists for latching on to arguments that science has proven wrong as technology has improved... well... pull the rug out from under yourself buddy... technology is still advancing... what do you concretely believe in right now that just might not be so in 20 years?...
... Second, he tries to prove the truth of the bible with the bible... and that's also bad... now I'm not saying anything in particular about the bible... but one thing I do know is that circular reasoning is not the way to go about proving it...
... In conclusion... Why can't we just organize some big grand televised, unbiased debate between some of these 'experts' every once in a while to keep us all in the loop?...
